IES 2021 Exam Date (Out), Eligibility, Application, Admit Card, Pattern & Syllabus

In the last week of September 2020, the IES 2021 notification will be released by the UPSC. The aspirants, who are belonging from the age group of 21 to 30 years, are eligible for IES Exam 2021. The UPSC IES/ESE Application Form 2021 notification will be released along with the IES 2021 notification in the official website of UPSC (upsc.gov.in). The interested should enroll their names and submit the form before the last date of submission. It can be expected that the IES exam 2021 will be held on 3 January 2021 (tentatively) by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The UPSC authority targets to recruit approximately 450 vacant positions in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication, Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering positions.

To qualify the exam with good marks, the candidates should complete the IES Exam Syllabus 2021 as soon as possible. The IES 2021 recruitment process will be made as per the following categories:

IES Eligibility Criteria 2021

Nationality

  • Indian citizen/ Subject of Nepal/ Subject to Bhutan
  • If the Tibetan refugee came to India before January 2, 1962, and started to live permanently, and will live in India forever, then they are eligible to appear for the exam.
  • If an Indian Citizen has migrated to Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, East African countries, United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Zambia, Zaire, Malawi or to Vietnam, and if they have intention to permanently settle in India, then they can apply for the IES 2021 exam.

Educational Qualification

  • To apply for the IES 2021 exam, the candidates should complete their Engineering degree from a renowned Institution or University.
  • If the candidates qualify the Section A and B exams of Indian Institution of Engineers, can also apply for the IES 2021 exam.

Age Limitation

  • The age group of the candidates must be in between 21 years to 30 years on January 1, 2021.
  • More specifically, the candidates should not be born before 2 January 1990 and not after 1 January 2020, if they have interest in applying for the exam.

  • To fill the IES 2021 application form the aspirants need to open the official website of UPSC.
  • The aspirants are advised to read carefully the instructions before filling the IES 2021 Application form.
  • Now, you have to fill the personal and other necessary details.
  • Once you fill the details, the aspirants will need to upload the scanned copy of passport size photograph and signature.
  • Pay the application fee in any branch of SBI
  • For future reference, do not forget to take the print out of the application form and bank challan.
  • When the aspirants will fill the application form, they will receive the registration number automatically.
  • Once you receive the registration number and challan number, then you can click the end option to complete the application form fill up process of IES Exam 2021.

Application Fee of IES 2021

  • The aspirants will need to pay Rs. 200 by using their Master Credit/Visa Debit/Credit card. You can also pay the amount by using the Net Banking Facility of State Bank of India/ State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ State Bank of Hyderabad/ State Bank of Patiala/ State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Travancore. The aspirants can also remit the amount in any branch of SBI by paying cash.
  • The SC/ST/Female/PH candidates do not need to pay the application free.

If the aspirants will complete the IES application form fill up process, then they need to wait for downloading the admit card before the Prelims exam. Approximately three weeks before, the aspirants can download the admit card. Once the students qualify the prelims exam, then they will need to download the Mains admit card. To download the admit card, the aspirants will need to provide the registration number and the date of birth of the candidates. No hard copy will be sent to the address of the applicants. IES Exam Pattern 2021

Before appearing the exam, the aspirants should have detailed information about the UPSC IES 2021 Exam Pattern. Read the following content to get a detailed idea about the exam pattern:

Stage I: Prelims (Objective Type Papers)

  • Stage I exam will be held in offline mode.
  • The aspirants will have to answer different papers in the prelims exam.
  • The type of questions of two papers will be MCQ
  • The candidates will get a deduction of ⅓ marks for each incorrect answer.

Stage II: Mains (Conventional Types Questions)

  • The written test of the Mains exam will be conducted in offline mode.
  • Two papers of IES 2021 Mains exam will be from the opted Engineering discipline (Mechanical Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/ Civil Engineering/ Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering).
  • No negative marking will be there for an incorrect answer.

Stage III

If the aspirants qualify these two stages of exam, then they will be able to take part in Stage III Examination.
