HPTET 2020 is an OMR based exam comprising multiple choice questions. The question paper is set by Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education. The syllabus and difficulty level of HPTET will be primarily based on the 10+2 curriculum of the state education board.

  • HPTET or “Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test” is conducted for the recruitment of trained graduate teachers in different subjects. 
  • The key to success in any entrance test is understanding of the overall paper pattern and weightage of different topics. 
  • Question paper and syllabi for the exam vary according to the subjects for which candidate applies for. 
  • Students can freely attempt all the questions because no provision for negative marking is indicated in HPTET Exam Pattern.
  • Candidates need to score at least 60% i.e 90 marks to qualify HPTET 2020

HPTET Exam Pattern 2020 in Detail

HPTET 2020 Exam Pattern varies for various subjects opted by the candidates. Before moving to the subject-wise pattern, candidates should know the overall exam pattern that remains common for all the subjects. Candidates with a thorough understanding of exam scheme tend to make better preparation strategy and have a strong edge over other aspirants. Following is the general explanation of HPTET 2020 Paper Pattern:

  • The paper will be an offline test means candidates will have to mark the answer in an OMR Sheet.
  • The exam will have 150 multiple choice questions with a time constraint of 150 minutes.
  • Each question carries 1 mark and there is no negative marking applicable in the exam
  • Minimum marks required to qualify the exam is 90 i.e 60%.

HPTET Marking Scheme 2020

  • For every correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded.
  • No negative marking will be applicable in the exam.
  • For un-attempted questions, no mark will be deducted.
