HPTET popularly known as Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test is organized by HPBSE to determine the eligibility of candidates for recruitment as Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs) in Arts/ Non-Medical/ Medical/ Shastri/ L.T/ JBT/ Punjabi/ Urdu Subjects. HPTET 2020 will be conducted from July 26 – August 9, 2020.

  • HPBOSE have extended the last date for application of HPTET. The last date of application is July 10, 2020. Form correction can be done till July 12, 2020. 
  • Candidates need to score 60% marks (50% for reserved category) in order to qualify the exam.
  • HPTET Application Form fee for General category is INR 800 whereas OBC/ SC/ ST/ PHH candidates need to pay INR 500 only.
  • HPBSE will issue eligibility certificate to the qualified candidates to make them eligible for appointment as teachers in the schools affiliated to HPBSE Board, subject to fulfilling other criteria.

HPTET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

HPTET Eligibility Criteria 2020 varies slightly according to the stream and subject opted by candidates for the test. Given below is the table containing the eligibility criteria for various disciplines:

HPTET 2020 Eligibility: Important Points

  • No upper age limit is specified by the Board to apply for HP TET 2020.
  • Relaxation up to 5% in minimum score in qualifying examination and in the HP TET qualifying score is permissible for reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC/PHH).
  • Candidates pursuing any of the listed teacher training programs in its final year (recognized by NCTE/RCI) are also eligible to apply for HP TET 2020
  • Qualifying the TET without fulfilling the eligibility conditions as specified could lead to non-consideration for an appointment

HPTET 2020 Application Form

HPTET 2020 Registration can be done in online mode only. HPTET 2020 Application Form will be available at the official website – hpbose.org since September 19 –  October 15, 2020.

Steps to fill HPTET 2020 Application Form 

Step 1: Visit the official website and click on the ‘New Candidate Register’ Tab

Step 2: Record personal/general information, such as Subject Appearing for, Applicant Name, DOB, Nationality, Category, Sex, Mobile Number and Email ID, complete Address details, Exam Center preference, as specified in the given fields.

Step 3: Upload scanned images of the following:

Signature dimensions: 3.5 cm X 1.5 cm; File Type: JPG; File size: upto15 KB

Step 4: Next, the fees can be deposited through integrated payment gateway via Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking.

Step 5: Finally, accept the declaration and submit the form. A confirmation page is generated with application number indicated on it. Obtain printout of same for future reference. 

HPTET 2020 Application Fee

HPTET 2020 Application fee is to be paid online through the integrated payment gateway on the official portal during the application process. The requisite transaction charges need to be borne by the applicants. The specific fee is tabulated below according to different categories.

HPTET 2020 Admit Card

HPTET 2020 Admit Card will be released on November 5, 2020. Candidates can download the hall ticket by logging in with their Application Number and Date of Birth.

  • HPTET 2020 Admit Card is issued only to candidates who have successfully submitted the form before the deadline.
  • Admit Card will contain Applicant’s Name, Roll Number, Photograph, Signature, Test Center Address and Test Schedule.
  • Applicants need to check the details printed on the Admit Card and immediately report discrepancies, if any, to the Board.
  • In case admit card is not accessible on the website, the applicant is advised to the Board’s Office with a copy of confirmation page

HPTET 2020 Exam Center

The board has allocated 71 locations for HPTET 2020. The list can be accessed on the official website. Applicants can specify their preference for Test Center while filling form. The test center once allotted cannot be changed. The board reserves the right to allot/change or cancel any test center at its discretion. Below is the list of exam centers:

HPTET 2020 Result

HPTET 2020 Result will be declared at the official website on January 20, 2020. Applicants can download the results using their Application Number or Roll Number. The steps to access the result are mentioned below:

  1. Visit the Official Website.
  2. Click on the HPTET 2020 Result link.
  3. Enter either your Application Number or Roll Number.
  4. Check result displayed on the screen.
  5. Download and obtain a print of the same for future reference.

Prior to the announcement of HPTET 2020 result, the Board would upload the Provisional Answer Key on its website for applicants to get an estimate of their probable test scores. Based on these Answer Keys, the final result would be announced online.

HPTET 2020 Cutoff

HPTET 2020 Cutoff score is the minimum score set by the Board that applicants need to score in order to qualify the test. General Category candidates need to score a minimum of 90 marks of the total score of 150 in order to pass the test. Category wise cut off/ qualifying marks are mentioned below:

Hi Tamanna, there is no concession in fee for female candidates. However, if you belong to SC/ST/OBC category, then, you will have relaxation in the amount payable.
