Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) which is responsible for conducting the Haryana Civil Service (HCS) exam, will release the notification for HPSC HCS soon. The delay in the release of the notification is assumed to be the current pandemic of COVID-19. However, a major modification has been made in the pattern of the exam as in the month of July 2020 as the Haryana Government has changed the Haryana Civil Service (Executive Branch) Rules, 2008 and implemented the HCS (Executive Branch) Rules 2020, making the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) Paper-II in the HCS prelims exam as qualifying only in nature, following the pattern of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination. This has been welcomed by most of the aspirants as it will help them focus on key topics.

How to Apply for HPSC HCS 202-21?

Candidates willing to join the prestigious civil services of Haryana can follow the step-by-step instructions listed below to understand the complete ins and outs of applying for the HPSC HCS examination:

  • Visit at the official website of the Haryana Staff Selection Commission, and find the application number against which it is recruiting for the Haryana Civil Services and click on the link “Apply Online”. This will open the first time registration page for the candidate.
  • Important Points to Note before Registration: Candidates who want to register for the Haryana Civil Services examination must follow the below mentioned instructions first:
    • The candidate must scan a recent passport-sized photograph. The photograph must be scanned in an image format i.e. jpg or jpeg. The maximum size of the file is kept at 100 KB.
    • Candidates are also required to scan their signatures ensuring that the size does not go beyond 50 KB.
    • The candidates must scan both the thumbs properly and must not be smudged.
    • The candidate is required to scan a handwritten declaration has to be in the candidate’s handwriting and in English only. It is important to understand that the application will be considered as invalid in case it is written and uploaded by anybody else or in any other language.
    • If a candidate is Visually Impaired, they have the option of getting the text of declaration typed and put their left-hand thumb impression below the typed declaration.
    • It is important for the candidate to have a valid personal email ID and mobile number, which should be active until the completion of the Recruitment Process.
  • Now Click on New Registration. The candidate will need to select the advertisement number and the post name from drop-down against which the candidate wants to sit in the examination. Other details that are to be filled include the name of the candidate, Gender, Mobile Number, Father Name, Mother Name, Email ID. Once the candidate fills this information, the candidate will need to set the password for the login. Candidates are advised to keep a note of this password as all the further communications would be done through this login.
  • Once the candidate clicks on the “Register” button, the Registration ID and Password will be prompted on the screen and will also be shared with the candidate through the SMS and email. Candidate can refer back to this information for the future reference.
  • Now the candidate can use the username and password to log in back to the profile, where there will be further details that are required to be populated by the candidate.
  • Once, the candidate fills all the detail very carefully and correctly, click on Next button.
  • On the next page, the candidate is required to upload the Photographs and Signature in a prescribed format along with the handwritten declaration.
  • Application fee payment process: Once, the candidate has filled all the information and uploaded all the documents, candidates will be required to pay the application fees for the examination. The mode of payment is online only. Candidates belonging to the general category or are reserved candidates of other states have to pay Rs 1000, whereas all the other candidates have to pay a fee of Rs 250 except for all the PwD i.e. Persons with Disabilities category candidates having at least 40% disability of Haryana, who are exempted from the fee.
  • Once paid, the candidate can submit the application form and can take a printout of the application for future purpose.
