DRDO stands for Defence Research and Development Organization and the main function of the organization is to develop the latest technologies used by militaries in their head office located in New Delhi. It also commences examination on a national level to choose efficient and skilled professionals for several junior research posts.

Selection Process of DRDO CEPTAM MTS Recruitment

The selection process will consist of Tier–I (Screening) and Tier-II (Final Selection)which will be described in the official notification. Tier-I and Tier-II will be conducted in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. There will be no negative marking for the wrong answer. The medium for the examination will be Hindi and English.

Tier-I

  • The Score of Tier-I (CBT) may be normalized as per requirement.
  • The Tier-I consists of objective type multiple choice questions only.
  • The Tier-I examination is for screening
  • The provisional selection will be based on the merit obtained in Tier-I examination depending upon the post/category/sub-category of the candidate.
  • The minimum qualifying marks for Tier-I is 40% for UR/ESM/OBC candidates and 35% for SC/ST candidates.
  • The shortlisted candidates will be called for Tier-II.

Tier-II

  • The Tier-II will consist of objective type multiple choice questions only.
  • There will be no negative marking for the wrong answer.
  • Tier-II is for final selection.
  • Candidates will be shortlisted for appearing in Tier-II based on Tier-I examination merit in a ratio of 1:10 (number. of vacancy: number.of shortlisted candidates)
  • This ratio may increase or decrease depending upon organizational requirements.
  • The last candidate securing equal marks in Tier-I in the bracket will also be included.
  • The Merit and final selection will be made on the basis of performance of the candidates in Tier-II.

Document Verification

Document Verification of Provisionally shortlisted candidates will be done at the time of joining by concerned Laboratory/Establishment.

Nomination for Posting

  • The nomination shall be on the basis of merit of the candidates in the Tier-II & document verification and preference of posting given by the candidates in their application for further processing of their candidature.
  • The offer of appointment will be issued by concerned Lab/Estt/Unit subject to satisfying all eligibility criteria including antecedents and character.
  • DRDO reserves the right to nominate candidates to any place in India depending upon organisational requirements/constraints.

DRDO CEPTAM 2021: Selection Process for A & A Post

The selection process will consist of Tier–I (CBT) and Tier-II (Trade/Skill/Physical Fitness and Capability Test, wherever applicable) as described in the official notice.

Tier-I

  • Tier-I is for Provisional selection.
  • The Score of Tier-I (CBT) may be normalized as per requirement.
  • The Tier-I (CBT) will consist of objective type multiple choice questions only.
  • The syllabus of the examinations will be commensurate to EER and OER required for the postcode.
  • The medium for the exam will be Hindi and English.
  • The minimum qualifying marks for Tier-I is 40% for UR/OBC/EWS candidates and 35% for SC/ST candidates.

Tier-II

  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for the prescribed Trade/Skill/Physical Fitness and Capability Tests as per the norms, wherever applicable
  • Tier-II (Trade/Skill/Physical Fitness and Capability Test, wherever applicable) is qualifying in nature.
  • Candidates will be provisionally shortlisted based on Tier-I examination merit in a ratio of 1:12.

Document Verification

  • The original certificates pertaining to EER and other relevant documents will be examined at the time of document verification.
  • It is essential to produce all the relevant certificates in original at the time of document verification, failing which the candidature of such candidates will be cancelled.
  • Candidates may be asked at any stage of the recruitment process to produce original documents/certificates for the verification of its authenticity by forensic expert/issuing authority.

Nomination For Posting To Labs/Estts/Units

  • The function of the CEPTAM is to select and nominate the name of suitable candidates to the concerned DRDO Lab/Estt/Unit on the basis of availability of vacancies in various DRDO Labs/Estts/Units.
  • The nomination shall be on the basis of merit of the candidates in the Tier-I examination, the outcome of Tier-II (Trade/Skill/Physical Fitness and Capability Test, wherever applicable) & document verification and preference of posting.
  • The offer of appointment will be issued by concerned Lab/Estt/Unit subject to satisfying all eligibility criteria including antecedents and character.
  • DRDO reserves the right to nominate candidates to any place in India depending upon organisational requirements/constraints.

Ques. What are the grounds of resolution of tie cases for Tier-II?

Ans. In cases where more than one candidate secures the equal aggregate marks in Tier-II examination, tie cases will be resolved by applying the following criteria, one after another, as applicable till the tie is resolved:

  1. Marks obtained in Tier-I examination.
  2. Date of birth, older candidate placed higher in the merit list.
  3. Alphabetical order in which the names of the candidates appear.

Ques. Is Document Verification mandatory for the DRDO CEPTAM exam?

Ans. Yes, for the candidates who will be shortlisted after Tier-II, must go through the Document Verification Stage to be appointed as per their desired post.

Ques. On what grounds will the conducting board declare any candidate guilty?

Ans. Any sort of misrepresentation, hiding or falsification of facts detected at any stage of the selection process, document verification will result in cancellation of candidature, without any notice, and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Here are some grounds -

  • In possession of mobile phone & accessories, Bluetooth devices and other electronic gadgets within the premises of the examination centres, whether in use or in switch off mode.
  • Involved in malpractices or using unfair means in the examination.
  • Submitting fabricated documents or documents which have been tampered with.
  • Making statements which are incorrect or false or suppressing material information.
  • Impersonation.
  • Resorting to any other irregular or improper means in connection with his/her candidature for the examination.
  • Misconduct /misbehaving in any manner in the examination hall with the invigilators, exam duty officials or DRDO representatives.
  • Canvassing in any form or disruption of examination.
  • Carrying any firearms/weapons, objectionable items.
  • Sharing examination terminal through remote desktop software/Apps/LAN/WAN, etc.
  • Attempt to hack or manipulate examination servers, data and examination systems at any point before, during or after the Examination.
  • Damaging Examination related infrastructure/equipment
