DMRC 2021 Syllabus, Exam Pattern and Preparation Books

DMRC Syllabus- DMRC Syllabus includes various topics from General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning in Paper 1. Topics from English grammar are included in Paper 2, Candidates are also asked questions based on the discipline applied for.

DMRC Recruitment process is a three-stage process- Written Exam, Group Discussion-Interview, and Medical Examination. Given below are the DMRC Exam Pattern Highlights:

  • DMRC Exam for Assistant Manager (Electrical, Civil and S&T) was conducted in offline mode. The exam was conducted in two shifts- Paper 1 and Paper 2 on the same day. 
  • DMRC Exam for JE, CRA, Maintainer and Other posts was conducted in online mode. It was a continuous exam divided into two shifts- Paper 1 and Paper 2
  • From this year, DMRC announces recruitment to Noida Metro. NMRC was conducted in online mode in two shifts alike DMRC.
  • As claimed by the students, NMRC was tougher than DMRC with more tricky questions.

DMRC Question Paper varies for different posts however the pattern and design of each is similar. Given below is the quick synopsis of DMRC Exam Analysis for each post:

  • DMRC Exam Analysis for SC/TO infer that the exam was overall moderately difficult. In the Aptitude section, most questions were from general awareness while the technical aptitude section included questions from GATES, Circuits, Resistance and Capacitance, etc. English section in the exam was average with more questions from fill in the blanks.
  • DMRC Maintainer Exam Analysis depicts that the exam was again moderately difficult. The most difficult section was Numerical Ability and General Awareness section. General English was moderate.
  • DMRC CRA Exam Analysis was moderate and was conducted in online mode this year. Quantitative Aptitude was the most difficult section in Paper 1 while General Awareness was the easiest.

DMRC Answer Key for various posts has been released officially. Candidates can access them from the official website by entering their roll number and date of birth. Candidates can also raise objections on the DMRC Answer Key before the given date.

DMRC Exam Pattern 2020

DMRC has been conducted in offline and online mode this year. The exam comprised two papers- Paper 1 and Paper. Paper 1 is the Aptitude Test and Paper 2 is the General English exam. Given below are the details of the DMRC Exam Pattern:

  • DMRC was conducted in offline mode for Assistant Manager (Electrical, Civil and S&T) and SC/TO while it was conducted in online mode for CRA, JE, Maintainer, and Other posts
  • DMRC Question Paper will be in both English and Hindi. Mark the circle before correct answer in the OMR Sheet for offline mode. In online mode, answer questions by selecting and saving the correct answer using the mouse.
  • There are 120 MCQs to be solved in 90 minutes in Paper 1. There are 60 questions in Paper 2 which must be solved in 45 minutes.
  • Paper 1 comprises three sections- General Awareness, Aptitude and Technical (Knowledge of Discipline/Trade)
  • Paper 2 is General English wherein the candidate’s proficiency in English is tested.
  • Each question carries 1 mark while 1/3 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.


DMRC 2020 Syllabus

  • The Written test comprises 2 papers- paper 1 and paper 2. Both the papers will be held on the same day at the same DMRC exam center.
  • Paper 1 will be bilingual (Hindi and English) test and consists of the following sections- General Awareness, Logical Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, Decision Making / Problem Solving and Knowledge of the Discipline/Trade.
  • Paper 1 consists of 120 MCQ type questions and is a 90 minutes duration test. It has a precision of negative marking.
  • For every wrong marked choice (1/3) mark is deducted.

DMRC 2020 Paper 2 Syllabus

  • Paper 2 is also an MCQ based test and is conducted for General English to judge the candidate’s knowledge of English Language.
  • A total of 60 questions are asked that are to be completed in 45 minutes.
  • Paper 2 has a provision of negative marking for every wrong marked answer. 1/3 marks is deducted for every wrong marked answer.

Hi Rashmi, the CBT consists of 2 parts as explained below:

  • Part 1 will consist of MCQs, bilingual (Hindi/English), on General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. 120 questions will be asked in total which a candidate will have to solve in 90 minutes. 
  • Part 2 will also consist of objective type questions on General English. A total of 60 questions will be there. 45 minutes will be given to solve the paper.

1 mark would be awarded for every correct answer while 1/3rd mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
