CSSET 2020 Eligibility: Qualification and Age Limit

CSSET or Combined Shiksha Shastri Entrance Test 2020 is held every year for admission in 3 Sanskrit deemed universities. It is a national level entrance test conducted by Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha for admission in B.Ed. course. CSSET 2020 will be conducted in the last week of May. 

A candidate must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in Shastri / B.A. with Sanskrit and/or Acharya / MA (Sanskrit) or an equivalent grade from a recognized college or university is eligible to apply for CSSET 2020. Relaxation of 5% marks will be given to the Reserved Category candidates (SC/ST/OBC).

Prepp Test Series


Students appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for CSSET 2020. But the students have to submit their original mark sheets at the time of CSSET 2020 admission. The minimum age of the candidate must be 20 years on or before October 1, 2020.


Eligibility Criteria for CSSET 2020

(i) Qualifying Examination

  1. A candidate must have scored minimum 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST/otherwise abled categories) in Shastri / B.A with Sanskrit in 10+2+3 Scheme and / or Acharya / MA (Sanskrit) or an equivalent grade from a recognized college or university to be eligible to apply for CSSET 2020.
  2. A candidate who have secured minimum 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST/otherwise abled categories) in Shastri / B.A with Sanskrit 2 year course from recognized college or university or have passed Acharya 1st year /M.A. (Sanskrit) 1st year/Setu (Bridge course)/Vidwanmadhyama/ Vidwaduttama examination is eligible to apply for CSSET 2020.
  3. It is compulsory for all the candidates to submit the mark sheets of the qualifying examination along with the application form. If the result of the candidate is awaited, they have to submit their original mark sheets at the time of admission, if they passed the examination.

(ii) Age Limit

The minimum age of the candidate must be 20 years on or before October 1, 2020 to be eligible to apply for CSSET 2020. No age relaxation will be given to the candidates in this regard.

NOTE:

Eligibility Criteria for Jammu & Kashmir Candidates: The candidates who hold Degrees/ Diplomas/ Certificates from Institutes in Jammu and Kashmir State are eligible for service in Central Government and other States. The eligibility of these candidates will be governed by rules and regulations of the respective states/universities.


Seat Reservation in CSSET 2020

Candidates have to submit a valid Reserved Category Certificate attested by a Gazetted officer. In case a candidate fails to submit a valid reserved category certificate, his or her eligibility will be rejected. If the reserved seats are not filled completely due to non-availability of eligible candidates; the remaining seats will be allotted to the general category candidates. The allocation of seats for reserved category students will be done at the central level for Sansthan Campuses. It is very important for a candidate to mention disability or death in the certificate for candidates falling in Ward/widows of Armed Forces Personnel disabled or killed during the war/Hostilities category.

Limited numbers of seats are reserved for candidates in Shiksha Shastri who fall into below mentioned category:-

Additional Reservation

  1. 2% seats are reserved for sportsmen who have participated at National or International Level competitions.
  2. 27% seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates. If the adequate numbers of eligible OBC candidates are not available; the remaining seats will be allotted to the general category candidates.

Stream-wise Seat Reservation

80% of all the available seats for Shiksha Shastri are to be filled by candidates belonging into traditional stream. The traditional stream includes Shastri/Acharya or equivalent examination. Remaining 20% seats are to be filled by candidates belonging into modern stream. The modern stream includes B.A with Sanskrit/MA with Sanskrit or equivalent examination. B.A with Sanskrit 2 year course/Acharya 1st year will come under traditional stream.

National, Campus and Catchment Area Level Seat Reservation

50% of all the available seats for Shiksha Shastri will be open seats. These seats will be allocated to the candidates who come under All India Merit List. Remaining 50% seats will be allocated to candidates who hail from the specified catchment area of each campus. Out of these 50% seats, 20% seats are reserved for candidates who have completed their graduation from the respective Campus of Sansthan. Remaining 30% seats are reserved for candidates who hail from the specified catchment area of each campus. In case the 20% seats reserved for candidates belonging to Campus quota are left vacant, the remaining seats will be given to candidates who hail from the specified catchment area of each campus. If a vacancy is still left from seats reserved for catchment area, then the seats will be allocated to the candidates who come under All India Merit List.

Catchment area: An applicant’s catchment area will be decided by his/her passing the qualifying examination from the University or Campus body located in that respective Campus Catchment area.


University and Category Codes in CSSET 2020

Each Deemed University has fixed number of Seats available for candidates seeking admission in B.ED course through CSSET 2020. The three deemed universities are Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, New Delhi; Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi and Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati. Every university has its own unique code.

General Instructions for CSSET 2020

  • Only candidates who satisfy all the eligibility conditions set by the competent authority can appear in the written test.
  • The admission to the B.ED course will be strictly on the basis of the number of seats and merit of each deemed university.
  • Decisions regarding the Eligibility, Catchment area, Reservation, etc are taken by the respective Campus.
