CG TET is Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test which is conducted by the Chhattisgarh professional examination board, Raipur. A candidate who is willing to become a teacher in government or private school in Chhattisgarh needs to successfully clear the examination of CGTET. The exam is held once in a year and it’s up to candidate whether they want to go for a primary class (I-V) or upper primary class (VI-VIII) teacher training in government or private schools in Chhattisgarh.

CG TET Eligibility criteria

Before filling the form for CGTET (Chhattisgarh Teacher eligibility test) a candidate must check his or her eligibility criteria so that they can appear for the examination.

  • Age limit- as such there is no any age limitation for giving the CGTET.
  • Educational qualification- graduation or 2 years of diploma in elementary education or graduation with at least 50% marks in Bachelor in Education (B. Ed) in pedagogy or B.ED.
  • For primary teacher (I-V)- candidate must have passed the HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) or its equivalent with at least 45% marks or relevant B. A/ B. Ed/ B.SC degree with at least 50% marks.
  • For upper primary teachers (VI-VII)- candidate must have a relevant degree in B.SC/ B.AD/ D. ED (Diploma in education) with at least 45% marks or minimum 50% marks in B. ED.

Online filling of application form

  • The application form for CGTET examination will be released on the official website of the CG TET.
  • Candidates have to register themselves through their mobile number, email id and phone number etc. on the official website of the CGTET (Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test).
  • Once the details are filled than the candidate can log in and fill the application form.
  • Candidates are required to upload scanned images of their passport size photograph, thumb impression and signature in JPEG format.
  • After all, this process candidate has to pay the fees by using online methods.
  • After submitting the form candidates should take a printout for the same.

Application fee

The application will be different for all the categories and candidates can pay the fees by using the online payment method debit card/ credit card or internet banking.

CG TET Exam pattern

  • CG TET Exam consists of two papers i.e. is paper 1 for primary level class (I-V) and paper 2 for upper primary class (VI-VIII), candidates have to clear the examination to become a teacher of the primary or upper primary class and candidates who are willing to become the teacher for class I-VIII have to qualify both the examinations.
  • The examination will be conducted by the offline method and duration of the exam will be of 2.5 hours (150 minutes).
  • Objective types of question will be there with a total number of 150 questions. And 1 mark will be rewarded for each correct answer also, no negative marking will be there.

For primary level class (I-IV) paper-1:

Note- A candidate who wants to become the teacher for mathematics and science have to attempt the mathematics and science section with child development and both the languages and candidate who wants to become the teacher for social studies or any other subject have to attempt the social studies & other subject section with other compulsory sections.

For paper 1 (I-V) class

  • In Child development and pedagogy- developing of a primary school child, the concept of inclusive education and understanding children with special needs and pedagogy.
  • In Language-1(Hindi) & 2 (English) – language comprehension and pedagogy language of development.
  • In Mathematics- number systems, algebra, geometry patterns, measurement, data handling, solids, ratio and proportion, mensuration and pedagogical issues.
  • In environmental studies- environment, food and shelter, water, family and friends, and pedagogical issue.

For Paper 2 (VI-VIII) class

  • Child development and pedagogy- the concept of inclusive education and understanding children with special needs and pedagogy.
  • In Language-1(Hindi) & 2 (English) – language comprehension and pedagogy language of development.
  • In mathematics and science- number system, algebra, geometry, mensuration, data handling and pedagogical issues. Science – food, materials, the world of living, moving things, people and ideas, natural phenomena and resources.
  • In social studies- history, geography, social and political life.

CG TET Selection Process

  • Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the entrance test of CGTET (Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test).
  • Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their marks in the entrance test.
  • After that, they will be eligible for the personal interview round.
  • If the candidate will clear all the rounds then they can become a teacher in Chhattisgarh.

  • The candidates will be given the 4 preferences/ choice to fill their examination Centre.
  • The examination Centre will be mentioned on their admit card of CGTET (Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test).
  • The Centre for the examination will be across the country.

Following are the expected Centre for the examination- Baikunthpur (Korea), Ambikapur, Dantewada, Durg, Raigarh, Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Korba, Kabirdham, Surajpur, Balrampur, Naryanpur, Balod, etc.

  • The admit card for CGTET Examination is published by the Chhattisgarh professional examination board (CPEB) on the official website of the CG TET.
  • The admit card will be available 1 week prior to the examination date. Candidates can download their admit card by entering their registration number and password.
  • Admit card will carry the following information like venue, date, timing, examination centre of the exam and other necessary details related to the examination.
  • In case candidates are unable to download the admit card then they have contacted immediately to their authorities.
  • It is advisory to download the hard copy of the admit card as there no entry will be there for the candidate without the admit card.

  • The result will be announced in June 2021 on the official website of the CG TET.
  • Before the declaration of the result, the answer key will be released on the official website by CPEB (Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board).
  • Candidates can check their result by entering the roll number and the minimum qualification is 60% marks for CGTET paper.
  • Those who will score more than 60% will get the certificate for the same.
  • The candidates who will be able to qualify the examination will be called for the interview round.

FAQs

Ques. What will be the passing marks to qualify the CGTET examination?

Ans. For the general category, the passing marks will be of 60% and for reserved categories (OBC/SC/ST) the passing marks will be of 40%.

Ques. Is there any process for rechecking or revaluation?

Ans. As such, there is not any process of rechecking or revaluation because the OMR sheets are checked by the machine so it not been possible.

Ques. Is there any separate application form for paper 1 &2 or we have to fill in one?

Ans. Candidates can apply for both the papers using the single application form but they have to submit the separate fees for the paper.

Ques. For how many years the result will be valid after clearing the CGTET examination?

Ans. The result will be valid for 7 years after the qualification.
